Heritage Library Catalogue - WebOPAC

Heritage WebOPAC is a unified Library Catalogue of print publications held by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Libraries and Information Services. The catalogue includes print material held in the following healthcare libraries: Bassetlaw Medical and Nursing Library, Doncaster Medical and Nursing Library Service and Doncaster PCTs Library and Information Service. It can be searched by title, keyword, author, class, etc.

Class number (e.g. WX 105 DEP)
Library location (e.g. PCT Library)
Status (e.g. available)

Print material is filed according to Wessex Classification Scheme in Doncaster health care libraries. Contact library staff if you have any problems locating publications. If you want to borrow material, please contact our staff. If publications you identified are held by another library, they can be delivered to your site library or collected from a holding library. Please allow at least a day for publications to be delivered to your site.

Books - collection covers subject areas such as public health, epidemiology, statistics in medicine and health care, communicable diseases, research in health and social care, medical sociology and health service planning and evaluation.

Journals coverage includes a small number of core medical journals, some health service management journals, public health journals and substantial number of newsletters. The List of Print Journals 2005 is also available from the Library.

Government publications collection includes government legislation documents, Department of Health policy and  planning documents, reports, etc.

Reports section includes annual reports published by Directors of Public Health, Health Authorities, PCTs and hospital trusts; health service planning publications (e.g. HimPs), evaluations of national and local projects (e.g. SY HAZ), audit reports, etc.

Statistics and surveys section includes national, regional and local population health and social statistics, national and local lifestyle surveys (e.g. Doncaster Lifestyle Survey 2000). Local and national statistical data are mainly produced in electronic format and are available from PHIU staff.
