DONCASTER PCTs LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICE

GENERAL AND REFERENCE SERVICES

The Library provides ENQUIRY SERVICES to support staff in their work. It involves enquiries about particular publications, finding information about government documents, searching the Internet, checking references, locating publications in the Library, supporting use of Heritage computerised catalogue, providing information about evidence based resources, directory enquiries, etc.

Contact if you need any assistance in citing and referencing, writing a paper, getting abbreviations of journal titles or obtaining instructions for publishing in scientific journals. Reference managing software PROCITE is installed on one of the library computers and is available to all staff. Contact the library services if you need support in the use of the software (e.g. creating bibliography).

The Library is also responsible for acquisition of books, journals, reports, statistical and government publications, etc.  All material purchased by the library is entered on computerised catalogue, which enables keyword searching and locating of required publications.

Heritage computerised catalogue is accessible on both computers in the library and can be used to check availability / holdings of print material (books, printed journals, reports, government documents, etc).  A "Guide to Heritage Library Catalogue", kept next to library computers, provides simple instructions how to search and locate printed publications in the Library.
