QOF BENCHMARKING TOOL

Doncaster's Public Health Intelligence Unit has developed a package for analysis of practice QOF data. The package presents comparative information on three aspects of QOF:

1) Prevalence of each of the QOF clinical areas, compared with modelled prevalence
2) Performance against each of the QOF indicators.
3) Exceptions for each of the QOF indicators.

The models and graphs for comparing practices have been produced for internal use by QOF teams and practices within Doncaster PCT and are published here in the belief that they may be useful to other PCTs. The prevalence models have not been peer-reviewed and Doncaster PCT does not give any guarantees as to their accuracy.

While the Public Health Intelligence Unit can not guarantee to maintain this application, we would be grateful to receive feedback and it is likely that it will be updated.

The spreadsheets are available here to download free, but we would strongly recommend anyone who wishes to use the model to send an e-mail to phiu@doncasterpct.nhs.uk, so that we are able to inform people if we find and fix any problems.

The model has been updated for 2007: several bugs have been fixed and the user interface improved
